Hollyhill Nikko BB C Y There are very few pure, deep yellow BB sized dahlias and Nikko fills the bill for both cut flowers
and as a show flower. It passed in five trial gardens. It grows about 4 feet tall and has good stems for bouquets and
baskets. Average tuber maker.
Hollyhill Gloria Stellar LB PK/Y
Gloria is a very strong grower easily reaching five feet  and having very
large(6-7 inches) flowers for a stellar. The flowers are a very bright pink over a
yellow base. It is a super tuber maker.
Hollyhill Six in One B LV V Y/R This is the one that many people have asked us to release.  This flower has the “Joker’s
Wild” gene that causes it to have differently colored flowers on the same bush. The picture shows several of the
possibilities. The flower has stabilized into two strains that we call Six in One Yellow and Six in One Red. If you want all of
the possibilities in color you should order one of each. It grows about 4 feet tall and is very healthy and easy to grow. It
makes an abundance of easily stored tubers.

2008 Introductions
Hollyhill Bridget M SC DB DP/Y Bridget has been one of our “private” flowers for several years. We like it’s very
bright colors of a nice deep pink with a yellow base. It is a extraordinary cut flower and the bushes grow to 5 feet
(most miniatures grow much shorter) and are covered with long stemmed flowers. Margaret has used it in
baskets and arrangements for several years. This year our good friend Gordon picked some of the flowers(and
did not tell us) and entered them in a show. It won a blue ribbon. We were encouraged and we entered it in
another show and it won best of type. It makes lots of smaller sized tubers that are red in color and store easily.
Hollyhill Alzora BB IC Flame(Orange/Yellow) Alzora is an arranger’s flower. The incurved cactus ray
florets swirl informally and create a very artistic impression. The plant grows about 4.5 feet tall. Average
tuber maker.
Hollyhill Alzora
Hollyhill Renoir BB IC PR Renoir is an arranger’s flower that has beautiful deep purple incurved cactus
flowers. The plant grows about 3.5 feet tall and the flowers do quite well in full sun as well as in part shade.
It is a seedling of Nagel’s Solidite B IC PK that was one of the most admired flowers in the 1950s and
1960s. Renoir is a super tuber maker and is easy to grow.  Picture is not faithful to it's nice purple color.
Hollyhill Shogun A SC Red. Shogun was entered in only one trial garden and passed as a
semi-cactus. For us it grows as an incurved cactus and there are very few large flowered red cactus
types out there. The plant is very vigorous, easily reaching 6 feet. It is an average tuber maker
Hollyhill Suzanne B IC Y Suzanne is a very nice bright medium yellow flower. We
appreciate it for it’s long stems that work well in baskets. It grows about 4 feet tall
and is an average tuber maker.
Hollyhill Flamingo B SC DP Flamingo is named for the tropical bird that is an outrageous  shade of dark pink.
Flamingo is an exceptionally bright flower in the garden and the dark pink flowers crown a very substantial dark
green bush. It  needs shading or cloudy days to reach it’s full potential. It is a very strong grower reaching 5
feet easily and the flowers have excellent substance. It was shown several times and was awarded blue ribbons
in it’s class. It is an average tuber maker.
Hollyhill Firelight BB C R Firelight is another dahlia that we have had as a “private” flower for several years. It
is a very strong growing, straight cactus in a very deep orange red.  It grows to 6 feet and has lots of blooms
for all purposes. We have used it as an arrangement flower, a basket flower and in bouquets. It is the result
of a hand cross between Hollyhill Dark Victory and Akita No Hikari. Average tuber maker.
Hollyhill Warlock B ID V OR/R Warlock
is a seedling of Hollyhill Bewitched and
is orange with red spots. Purely a cut
flower, it goes well with Fall bouquets.
4 feet tall.
Picture is  darker than
actual flower.
Arranger’s Flower defined: most of us put dahlias into two categories show flowers or cut flowers. We believe
there ought to be another category. We have noticed that some flowers look especially good in flower
arrangements. Remember that  arrangements are not flower bouquets.  In many flower arrangements, there are
very few flowers and those that are present must make an artistic impact.  We have selected several flowers from
our seedlings that we believe will be excellent arranger’s flowers. We are introducing two of them this year. In the
past our Hollyhill Spiderwoman has done very well in the arrangement classes. There are many varieties in
commerce that are excellent arranger’s flowers and we have begun to collect some of those varieties. Hopefully,
we will be able to offer some of them for sale in the future.
