Hollyhill Chloe won the Lynn Dudley Medal for 2007. It is a very well formed semi cactus that will be very competitive
in it's class. The deep colors are intensified by some shading and the flowers pictured above were grown under the
shade of an umbrella. In the full sun, most people would see only it's orange color. The above picture was taken at
the show in Roseburg, Oregon. The light for this picture came from a sky light and the colors in this picture have not
been changed in any way. This is the actual color of the flower. The flower is a large B sized flower and has excellent
depth. The stems have a small amount of red pigment and the dark green leaves are very nicely formed. The plant
grows about 4' tall in full sun. It is a very attractive garden plant also as the flowers are held well above the foliage
and contrast well with the dark green leaves. It is a seedling of our Hollyhill Electra and shares many of it's parent's
traits, including holding up well in hot weather.

Hollyhill Samurai is a full sized "A" flower in dark red. It is a vigorous grower
attaining a height of over 5 feet. It passed in two trial gardens. There is very
little competition in it's class.
Hollyhill Lemon Slice is a BB LC Y. It is a very bright yellow and the tips of the ray florets are split very deeply and twist
nicely. It has won several blue ribbons in the basket class and has won several blue ribbons when shown as both a
single entry and a triple.

Hollyhill Black Widow is a wonderful very dark red waterlily that is an excellent cut flower. Most waterlily dahlias
are not very well suited for cutting in that they do not have the substance and stems to hold up in a bouquet.
Black Widow has very long stiff stems and stalks and can easily be cut at an 18 inch length. Another trait is it's
ability to look good in all stages of development: half open flowers look equally good as fully opened flowers
and the centers hold very well. The plant grows very vigorously to about 4' and the flowers do not fade in the
sun(they actually get a bit darker!). The flowers are about 3.5 inches in diameter. It also makes lots of easily
stored tubers. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of Black Widow and the only picture I could find was
Margaret's Best in Show basket from the PNDC show in North Bend, Oregon. Trust me, if you grow cut flowers,
you want this one.
